A shooting on the northbound lanes of I-57 near 115th Street in Chicago on Sunday night left three people dead, including a one-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, and three others injured. The victims were traveling in a vehicle when shots were fired at about 10:30 p.m. The 19-year-old male driver, the young girl, and the teenage boy were pronounced dead at the scene. The girl has been identified as Amara Hall by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to Illinois State Police, a woman was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious but stable condition, while two boys, ages 13 and 14, were transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far.
This senseless violence is another tragic reminder of the toll that gun violence takes on our communities. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the victims, and we hope that the authorities will swiftly bring those responsible to justice.
