Guelph Police Search for Suspicious Man with Weapon Near Schools
The Guelph Police Service is currently investigating reports of a suspicious man with a weapon near several schools in the area of Scottsdale Drive and Wilsonview Avenue. The person is described as a tall, thin man in his 60s wearing a grey waist-length winter coat and grey wool toque.
Officers were called to the area around 11 a.m. on Thursday following reports of a person with a weapon. As a precaution, security measures were implemented at five nearby schools, and students and staff were advised to remain inside.

After a search of the area, investigators did not find anyone fitting the description. However, further investigation revealed that the man may have been carrying a toy or replica gun.
