On April 1, 2019, rapper Nipsey Hussle was gunned down outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles. The tragic event sent shockwaves through the music community and sparked an intensive police investigation.
In December 2021, Eric R. Holder Jr. was found guilty of the first-degree murder of Nipsey Hussle and on February 22, 2023, he was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison.
Holder was also found guilty of two counts of attempted murder and one count of assault with a firearm for injuring two other men during the shooting. The trial lasted for several weeks and featured emotional testimony from witnesses and family members of the victims.
The judge’s decision to sentence Holder to life in prison sends a strong message about the consequences of senseless violence and the need for justice in our society.
