According to a recent report, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is facing an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over statements he made about the capabilities of the company’s self-driving cars.
Elon Musk Investigated by SEC for Self-Driving Car Claims
This is not the first time that the SEC has looked into Musk’s statements about Tesla’s self-driving capabilities. In 2018, the agency sued Musk for fraud over a tweet in which he stated that he had “secured funding” to take the company private. The case was settled with Musk agreeing to pay a $20 million fine and step down as Chairman of the board.
