Cary Police Chief Terry Sult said officers were called to Windsor Apartments on Macedonia Lake Drive at Tryon Village after receiving a request for a wellness check on a person at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered the man had barricaded himself inside and refused to come out.
Negotiations between the police and the man have been ongoing for at least 12 hours, with no resolution as of yet. During the incident, one juvenile suffered a gunshot wound and was described as having minor injuries on the arm and neck. The police have not disclosed the identity of the juvenile or their relation to the hostage-taker.
