Active Shooter Reported at Boulder High School; School on Lockdown

The Boulder community is reeling today after reports of an active shooter at Boulder High School. The school is currently on lockdown, and police are responding to the scene.

Details are still emerging, but initial reports indicate that shots were fired at the school. It’s unclear at this time whether the shooter is still on the premises or if they have been apprehended.

Boulder High was on a delayed start, but surely teachers and staff are there


In addition to Boulder High, police have issued a shelter-in-place order for the Goss Grove area.

BVSD Provides Updates on Developing Situation

The Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) has issued a statement asking parents to stay away from the school and not to call 911 unless they have an emergency. BVSD will provide updates on the situation as soon as possible, and students and staff are being urged to stay in their classrooms and shelter in place until further notice.

Residents in the vicinity of Boulder High School have been given a shelter-in-place order after reports of an armed person near the school. The school is currently on lockdown.
