6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Islamabad

An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit Islamabad at 5:37 AM with 5.20 KM depth near the border with China.  The earthquake was felt across the city and surrounding areas, causing panic among residents.

Damage and Casualties

So far, there have been no reports of major damage or casualties. However, some buildings and structures have suffered minor damage, including cracks in walls and ceilings.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has urged residents to remain calm and follow safety guidelines. The authority is closely monitoring the situation and has dispatched teams to assess the damage and provide assistance.

As per initial reports the tremors were also felt in #Abbottabad and #Malakand areas.
